Who we are

Saint John's Seminary is a community centered on Christ. We are rooted in the Gospel and the sacred tradition of the Church. The seminary seeks to develop Catholic leaders who are thoughtful, spiritually mature and ready to serve in a broad variety of ministries.

Our Priestly Formation Program has proudly served the Church since 1884 in forming men who aspire to be priests in the Roman Catholic Church. Seminary life is marked by communal prayer, fraternity, evangelistic zeal, growth in virtue, and intellectual engagement. It is a house of discernment filled with joy, encouragement, and guidance.

Saint John's offers a Lay Formation Program open to laity, professed religious, and deacons. The lay Formation program offers two fully accredited graduate degree programs in Catholic theology. These two degree programs are faithful to the Catholic intellectual tradition and are carefully crafted to provide an integrated and thorough study of Catholic theology.

Priestly Formation Program

The primary objective of the Priestly Formation Program at Saint John's Seminary is to prepare men for parish priesthood. The Priestly Formation Program takes its directives from the “Program of Priestly Formation,” commonly referred to as the “PPF.”
