Statement of Effectiveness
Saint John’s Seminary

Saint John’s Seminary is fully committed to the quality, integrity, and effectiveness of its academic programs. The rector, administration, and faculty constantly endeavor to offer effective programs in preparing candidates for ordained and lay ministry and participation in life and work of the Catholic Church.

In the past ten years, the Seminary has increased enrollment by more than 250% and has ordained over 100 men to the Priesthood.

In September of 2012 we will welcome the largest group of seminarians to Saint John’s Seminary in 20 years.

Pre-Theo

The Pre-Theology Program leading to the degree of Bachelor of Philosophy continues to provide a solid foundation for theological studies as well as the opportunity for ongoing discernment of the vocation to the diocesan priesthood.

Since 2006, 70% of those entering the B. Phil Program have completed the degree and 45% entered the M.Div. Program.

Theology

The Master of Divinity is a coherent, comprehensive program that has been reviewed positively by the Apostolic Visitation.

Since 2006, 71% of those entering Saint John’s Seminary completed the M.Div Program and in addition to completing the M.Div, 18% also completed the MA in Theology Program.
